Sell or not to Sell

I own Asian Ball-Jointed dolls from Korea, Chinaand one from Japan.I got them back when I used to work as a graphics artist (once upon a time,until I quit since business communications weren’t going so well) After a fewyears I have lost interest and use for a majority of my collection and I’vesearched for good homes for them.

For a while now I’ve had my dolls for sale. I’ve hadinterested buyers but they have changed their minds after a time. I can understandthat since the economy is pretty bad and these dolls are expensive. Recently my sister lost interest in the doll in my previous post, so I took him out of his box. I wonder ifI will ever find a good home for the dolls I want to give away. Right now they are sitting on my shelfas I ponder whether or not to sell them. Looking for homes for them is such ahassle, and the way that it looks it seems I will never find someone interested in them. At least not any time soon.

I only want to truly keep three of them and sell the rest. Isuppose I could try and bond with them again and give them new purpose andstory. I don’t exactly feel like setting up the table to take pictures of themfor sale all over again, and I've been too busy these days with commissions and life to make time to play with them.

But I haven't forgotten about this blog, and I haven't forgotten about my dolls. I just need to do a photo shoot of them sometime when things aren't so busy.

It has been a long while! Life has been very busy for me so I haven't had the chance to really update my doll blog. But today I got the chance to take a few pictures of one of the dolls I am selling. I actually sold two of my dolls to my younger sisters. One of the dolls is the kid dollmore Aidan I am givving to my youngest sister.

The other is a Fairyland a la carte (Beautiful Line) with a Soo Dark Elf event head. I am also giving her the Carl head.

I need the money but I also never did get to bond with this one doll, but I always loved his body and face. I just can't seem to connect with him no matter how much I try. But my sister seems to love him, and I gave him a new face-up that resembles her character Medado a little bit. I can't wait to ship him to his new home where I know he will be much appreciated. Even though I didn't bond with him I want my dolls to go to good homes where they will be loved and cared for. Plus I get to see them once every year or so XD

That is not a doll! But it has a face! This is my Muse Ocarina (tenor/bass) made by Songbird Ocarina. This is my first ocarina and it was my first time playing it. She is made of porcelain. We went to the Nature Reserve today and took a few photos of my Obitsu Gretel 60cm doll, currently named Vivian. I haven't taken many pictures of her in a while and I have to say that carrying her around was not much of a hassle. She is so lightweight I kind of forgot I held her most of the time.

It snowed back on February and I took a bunch of pictures of my Phoenix [redhead], and a few of "Silas" who is currently not Silas anymore. I plan to eventually get a new doll that will be more suitable for my Silas character. [This is after I make the doll sale. I am so uncertain about getting separated with some of them, especially since I love the look of one and I don't know WHO would want my Obitsu that has yet to gain a proper personality.]

Christmas Presents!

Phoenix: You shouldn't keep messing with your gifts. That is a naughty thing to do--

Phoenix: No Silas, we have to wait until Christmas before we can open our gifts. The humans are doing a good job waiting, you should practice patience too.

And so Phoenix teaches Silas things such as "Good things come to those who wait." and by waiting patiently is good practice to maturing and calming down. Silas, wanting to be as cool and mature as Phoenix decides she will give it a go.

And so they wait until the 25th, and by waiting patiently they will be rewarded with the little goodies inside the wrapping paper.

Chris and I went and did a small Photoshoot with Phoenix in the nature preserve. All morning I was dressing up my dolls and I tried on a different wig on Phoenix and.. well, i fell in love with the new look. It really really suites him ^__^ Also, next time, I think i am going out to the nature preserve during winter, or bring a hell load of bug spray. Omg The mosquitoes ate me alive. Also I gave Phoenix his belly button piercing this morning. It looks so cute XD

Master didn’t know who to bring and in the end decided to take me to A-kon. It is a convention with lots of things in it, mainly anime and a bunch of interesting traditions like cosplay. I left with her and took about an hour ride on the train. We waited for Master’s friend, Holly, to arrive. When she did I eventually met a bunch of interesting fellows and all of them were very attractive looking, which left me feeling a bit uncomfortable. But then I met someone who had a face similar to my own when I first came into this world I found myself acting rather peculiar. He was a very shy guy, kind of silent and to himself. I guess since he reminded me so much of myself I opened up and acted in ways I usually would not. I then thought, hey, maybe if I tried hard enough I can swipe off his hair and borrow it for a day or two. I never knew I had such a talent/skill. *soft-evil laughter*

A-kon was a lot of fun. I saw so much. I hope to meet Raza again sometime soon. I know the guy misses me >3

Master told me I should write my side of the story of our journey so I suppose I’ll do just that! Master washed all of us, fixed our faces and prepared us for a meet. She stuffed Sace, Johan and I in that nasty bag of hers. I hate being in there. When we finally got out I was surprised to see so much green around us. Master said we were in a forest. Johan didn’t know what to make of it but I instantly felt right at home along with Sace. There were a few bugs but I didn’t mind it.

We roamed in a lot of places but Master had to continuously place us in

I haven’t had the time to draw or do anything… and computer time is so damn limited. I am doing all this while Chris is asleep XD

I got up about two hours ago. I am still sick but doing a heck load better. My coughing almost completely disappeared and I am getting my voice back! (sort of) Yesterday was Valentines Day but like every year nothing happens because I don’t like that day very much >> yes I have Chris but we aren’t exactly the romantic type, especially when we are so sick *sticks tongue out*

However I did manage to get my sick butt out of bed and did face-ups on my dolls. It was nice and warm yesterday (70 degrees Fahrenheit) but windy so I had to have the garage door halfway closed. I just fixed Vesa’s face a little and I redid Johan’s entire face. The pictures didn’t come out so well... I think it somewhat reflects how I am feeling, and apparently I am feeling blurry. So I’ll just pick the least blurry ones.

This summer I plan to get a cheap doll. An OBITSU Gretel doll, not because she is cheap but my god I love her face, and the body is pretty interesting. I have been contemplating on getting her since I saw her mold in the doll meetup last year. So yeah, I’ll wait until summer. Chris said it is better to wait anyway because I might change my mind again… I don’t think so though. I really-really like her. And I need boobs in my doll family XD Vesa is being way too mommy-like… not like I mind but he really does need a girl to get his manly side in gear… YES Vesa does have a manly side! (just not around Sace in my novel XP )

Vesa’s ears fell off the other day (the epoxy stuff) and I thought oh, maybe thin ears wouldn’t hurt, but then out of no where those parts fell off too! I was upset and that lead me to sanding Vesa’s ears and fixing up his faceup. In the end I fell in love with Vesa yet again. He looks even BETTER than before. He is sooo pretty. *is proud* Also I made that kimono my self. All hand sewn too. Guh, I won't be sewing for a while now >>; lol.

When Vesa heard a knock at the door he didn’t know what to expect. No one usually knocks on the door. Maybe it was Bill. But when he saw his Master rush outside and brought in a trembling box he did not know what to think. There was a wide smile on Master’s face as she placed the box down beside the fireplace and turned on a light. Vesa hesitantly crawled over to his Master’s side and glanced at the box. It was making an awful lot of rattling noises. Vesa’s Master allowed him to take a closer inspection on the box.

It continued to rattle.

Master Karla: He seems real anxious to get out.
Vesa: ! He?

In a sudden burst the box flung opened, and Vesa stepped back just in time before the board pieces hit him.

There was a box within a box, and whatever that was inside really wanted to get out.

Vesa watched as his Master carefully pulled the top off.

Vesa: Pillows and a booklet? *poke*
Master Karla: Nah, There is mo—!!

Vesa: AAHH!!!

Another burst and the pillow and booklet flew up startling the Master and Vesa. Inside were more things. A pair of shoes and three sets of different colored wigs. But there was something between the colorful fibers squirming and rattling within squeaky plastic. This was the thing making that entire racket. This was ‘he’ the newcomer.

???: *mumble mumble!*

Vesa: Master! Wait, I will inspect this! What is this thing? What is it? You need something?
???: …. *low murmurs*

Vesa: .. oh…
???: !!!

Master Karla: I think he wants this stuff off him so he can breath.
Vesa: Of course of course @-@;;
???: *squirms*

???: *GASP!*
Master Karla: Vesa, You’ll be the first one to look at his face.

The new Doll Child had no name. It would take a day before he was named Johan Levine. Everyone accepted him and the bonding process was almost immediate. Even though Johan knows who his master/Mother is, he is found sleeping next to and hugging the older doll… and on occasion calling Vesa his Mommy.

Sewing Meet-up 2007

I decided it was probably long over due to write so I should do it now. I will be writing about the Sewing Meetup that took place in Arlington December 14 – 16 2007. Although I was only there for the 15th and had to come home early cuz I got all sicky-woozy. Anyway, it was FUN even though I didn’t get to talk much since naturally I just don’t talk because I am like 100% petrified when surrounded by people I don’t know. I can handle like one or two but when the numbers go high I am like “*clamps up*” There was so much fabric everywhere! XD I was afraid my doll would get swallowed up by it but instead he sat on the couch with the majority of the lovelies.

It was my first Doll Meetup and it was my first time seeing so many different types of dolls in person. I met Rinny, AKA Blaknite and she is one of the coolest people I have met in the longest time. She has such an opened mind and a laid back personality. It made me feel relaxed actually ^o^ so I wasn’t so nervous with her. It was funny, when I got out of the train I didn’t see her any where but I saw a car with a lady holding a bright pink thing which at first I assumed was a baby. And I was like “why is that lady lookin’ at me O.o” after like 5 minutes Erin and I realized “oh!” we were looking at one another! And the bright pink thing was her lovely hound Skah. (for those of you who dunno, hound is a doll model. Not a doggy XD I made that mistake a few times before >> )

Arriving at Erin’s place I met two girls before meeting another girl and a very, very, very tall red headed dude that kinda scared me at first XD;; I don’t know why! I mean I knew he was going to be there and I knew he was a tall guy but for some reason when he came out of the back room all zombie-like I was all “eep!” in the inside XDD Of course after a while he was probably the second person I was the most comfortable with in the meetup besides Erin. He does magic tricks! He pulled a bunch of coins out of me and I was all “I am made outta monies! 8D” Oh, that’s right, that guy is named Reed. He has so many little dolls, and dolls in general. He introduced me the few he brought to the meetup. They were all so freakin’ CUTE! My favorite was the redhead—I forgot her name ;-;

I saw a Luts Shiwoo (the vampire one) with an old body I think. I didn’t think Luts would look so pretty in person o_o;; at that moment I was like “..I want one” but it took me seeing him naked beside me while his master was fixing up something to prepare to restring him. He has a huge package O.o but Skah was like HELLO! XDD haha. Vesa felt so belittled with his. I could almost see him blush with all the naked dollies around.

I only got to sew Vesa a plain shirt using hand sewing techniques, and half assed leg warmers/socks. I was too afraid to use the other people’s sewing machines. I have one now and I kind of wished I paid closer attention to their sewing. By the time Rinny’s friend/boss? Craig came in I was already getting sickly/dizzy. It was right after I ate some Pizza. My guess is I probably didn’t get enough sleep the night before because I was such a night owl. I swear since the Doll Meetup my sleeping patterns has changed into an old person’s. I wake up early and go to bed early XP;; I usually get to see the sun rise! *gasp* ok, now on to the pictures!
